There is always a very affirmative aspect to the work CREA does. We can all relate to it. Anuradha Chatterji | Executive Director – India, CREA
CREA is a feminist, human rights organization founded in 2000 by a group of feminist leaders who identified the need for an organization in India working at the intersections of sexuality, gender and rights. CREA has offices in New Delhi and New York City.
Over 25 years, CREA has become one of the few international women’s rights organizations based in the Global South and led by Southern feminists. Our work centers around working with diverse partners to build feminist leadership, advance women’s human rights, expand sexual and reproductive freedoms, and further disability justice. We work not only intersectionally but across levels – at grassroots, national, regional, and international platforms and forums.
CREA envisions a more just and peaceful world, where everyone realizes their autonomy, dignity and equality.
CREA builds feminist leadership, strengthens movements, challenges unjust power structures, expands sexual and reproductive freedoms, and advances the human rights of structurally excluded people.
CREA believes that a collective, collaborative and inclusive process can enhance learning and action in mutually beneficial ways. CREA works in partnership with local and global organizations, networks and movements, as well as individual activists, practitioners and leaders.
