Srilatha is a feminist activist, researcher, scholar, and trainer. Her work spans over two decades, focusing on grassroots movement building with marginalised urban and rural women in India, as well as research and policy advocacy on gender equality and women’s rights. She has worked with organisations such as the Ford Foundation, Harvard University, and AWID, where she contributed to grant-making, scholarly work, theory-building, and the capacity-building of young women activists worldwide.

Best known for bridging theory and practice, Srilatha has written extensively on women’s empowerment, women’s movements, and feminist leadership. She has also created key knowledge resources for CREA. Srilatha proudly identifies as a feminist grandmother, both within the women’s movement and to her four teenage grandchildren.
