Project Lead – Feminist Leadership, Movements & Emerging Leaders Initiative

Babita works closely with CREA partners in India to strengthen feminist leadership, intersectionality in gender discourses, and SRHR approaches in their work. She also supports the feminist movement-building process with grassroots organisations. Her responsibilities include designing and implementing programmes, managing partnerships, networking, and advocacy on gender issues, as well as supporting the finance and administrative teams in programme management. Her core interest is in strengthening community-based initiatives and bringing those stories to global policy advocacy.

Babita holds a master’s in Social Work and a diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism. She has more than 14 years of experience in the development sector, having also worked with the State Social Audit Unit of Jharkhand, with the Alliance for Immunisation and Health as a State Project Coordinator, and with Pravah as a Project Coordinator and Programme Manager. She loves writing Hindi poetry and exploring traditional cuisines.
