CREA supported a training of trainers workshop with 30 women rights defenders who work in local communities in the Kenyan coast to improve their response to prevent and address gender-based violence in the region.
The training curriculum was designed to strengthen their advocacy, training and facilitation skills to take back to women in their respective communities. CREA partnered with two NGO's, Coast Women for Women (CWW) and Muslims for Human Rights to implement this capacity building initiative. Both organizations have a strong presence in the Kenyan coast and work to advance human rights in the region.
CREA is committed to address gender-based violence, to visibilise its impact on all women, girls and transgender people, to enhance their well-being, and to challenge structures and norms on gender and sexuality that perpetuate stigma, discrimination and violence.
