rethink legal reform on abortion through the lens of movement and alliance building through retelling the story of four influential campaigns in Argentina, Ireland, Kenya and Poland reimagine feminist engagement on abortion through a more critical analysis of the limitations in the way universal human rights standards are applied and examine reproductive justice as an alternative frame to address abortion rights reboot conversations by building on our wins but also with a deeper understanding of the contested spaces we occupy within and across our movements that create movement and constituency based hierarchies to make rights claims.

#AbortTheStigma is a campaign to normalise conversations about abortion and advocate for access to safe abortion. CREA has launched the #AbortTheStigma Toolkit that provides rights-based and evidence-based information for activists and advocates to work on this issue. We want to dispel myths and misconceptions about abortion in India and embrace reproductive justice for all.

IRELAND reimagine decriminalization not just as advocating for change in laws or harm reduction to mitigate the effects of restrictive laws but as a powerful story of social and popular mobilization of feminists who say enough is enough.

This episode is the third installment of four powerful campaigns (successes) in Argentina, Ireland, Kenya and Poland showcased as part of a video series to highlight how legal reform can be reimagined as a powerful movement strategy. This video features: Maria Ni Fhlatharta Maria Ni Fhlatharta is a legal researcher, policy advisor and human rights advocate.
